This is for my friend Heather who requested the recipe. It is a really good recipe but for a bread machine. I will try to adjust it for normal use also.
My mind is my playground where many a wondrous things can be found, and the only limits are the ones I set! Janie's philosophy!
Dough:
1 cup water
2 tbsp butter
1 egg
3-1/3 cups better for bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tsp regular active dry yeast or
quick-acting active dry yeast
Filling:
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp butter, softened
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 - 2 tbsp milk
For bread machine: place ingredients in order listed into bread machine. Select the dough cycle. Press start
Grease 9x9x2 inch square pan. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Flatten dough with hands or rolling pin into 18x9 inch rectangle on lightly floured surface. spread with softened butter; sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture. Roll up tightly, beginning at 9-inch side. Pinch edge of dough into roll to seal. Cut into 1-inch slices. Place in greased pan. Cover; let rise in warm place 1 to 1-1/4 hours or until double in size.
Heat oven to 375o. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan; drizzle Glaze over warm rolls. Makes 9 rolls.
Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk until smooth and thin enough to drizzle.
Without bread machine: mix together ingredients, roll on to floured surface and knead for 6 minutes. Place in bowl and cover let rise for 15 minutes. Roll on to floured surface and knead again for about 6 minutes. Place back in greased bowl, cover and let rise for an hour. Then follow directions above starting with grease 9x9x2 inch square pan. I hope this works, I am questamating looking at the dough cycle times. I know from making homemade breads and biscuits not to over knead it will make the finished product tough.
Hope this is yummy to your tummy Miss Heather. Eat one for me since I don't eat bread any more.
